Special KIDS, Special PETS

Boy Wonder

So this is my latest endeavor, emergence onto the “Socially Aware Photography” scene.  I have started a project called, “Special KIDS, Special PETS”, that explores the…ummm…well, special relationship between children and animals with special needs.   For starters, I have developed a collaboration with WINDRUSH FARM THERAPEUTIC EQUITATION, INC (http://www.windrushfarm.org/)  ”… a non-profit, working horse farm that has been successfully helping children and adults with physical, emotional, and learning disabilities since 1964.”  You can see some intial photos on my website at http://www.danielpowersphoto.com.

GIVING UP MEDICINE for photography?

I am a PHYSICIAN, an internist.  This is who I am.  What I do.  But for the first time I find myself wondering what would [will] I do when medicine becomes too socialized here for me to stay in it any longer.

So here is this DENTIST who is living his dream.  TALK ABOUT “SOCIALLY AWARE PHOTOGRAPHY”?   He lives in the Pacific Northwest and has travelled the world taking breath-taking images of people…of life.  Check out his website, see WOMEN EMPOWERED.  http://www.philborges.com/collections.html
